The problem

You're not exhausted because you lack commitment.

You're exhausted because your leadership capacity is being drained faster than you can rebuild it.

The inbox starts early. Urgent issues interrupt everything. Supervision gets bumped. A young person escalates, a family is distressed, a decision can't wait. Someone drops something on you late in the day and says it'll only take five minutes. It never does.

Then you take the pressure home. Not always in your laptop. Sometimes in your shoulders, your tone, or how present you are with your own family. That's what survival rhythm does. It slowly trains good leaders to become reactive, scattered and tired.

The answer isn't to care less or become harder. It's to build a rhythm strong enough to protect the care.

In 90 days

From survival mode to a steadier way of leading.

You won't fix every problem in your system or make complex work easy. You will build a rhythm that helps you lead inside complexity without being swallowed by it.

  • More protected leadership time each week
  • A clearer start to your day, before urgency drags you in
  • A cleaner finish, so work stops bleeding into everything else
  • A calendar with buffers around predictable pressure points
  • A weekly reset, so the week lands instead of spilling over
  • A team that brings more solutions and fewer raw problems
  • Boundaries your team understands, without you becoming cold or unavailable
  • Leadership decisions shaped by purpose, not just pressure

When rhythm improves

Pressure has somewhere better to go.

Rhythm isn't just about your calendar. It affects decisions, confidence, team steadiness, and whether people can stay connected to the mission under pressure.

A mental health team

Fridays stopped skidding into the weekend

Friday afternoons had become a pressure cooker of last-minute calls and late finishes. A protected wind-down to reset, name wins and plan what carried forward gave the team more buffer, more connection and far less spillover.

A residential care team

Debriefs became shared action

Debriefs had turned into complaint loops and hopelessness was spreading. Clear roles and a structure for hearing people properly moved the team from emotional spillover to shared action. There was less splitting, and the leader felt more contained.

A young person facing exclusion

The team held together

Behaviour was escalating and the pressure to exclude was building. Clear meeting and escalation protocols, structured debriefs and shared roles kept the adults aligned. The young person stayed, and went on to graduate.

The diagnosis

The seven leadership capacity leaks.

Most leaders don't have one leak. They have three or four, sometimes all seven. That's why generic advice fails: it treats symptoms without finding where capacity is actually disappearing.

Find your leaks with the free Scorecard
  1. CalendarUrgency controls your week before you do.
  2. InterruptionQuestions, messages, drop-ins and "quick" requests fragment your attention.
  3. Responsibility DriftUncertainty, hard conversations and uncomfortable decisions drift up to you.
  4. Decision DrainToo many decisions reach you because thresholds and authority are unclear.
  5. PurposeUrgency becomes louder than what matters most.
  6. TrustThe team stops trusting its own thinking and depends on access to you.
  7. RecoveryWork follows you home because your day and week never fully close.

The plan

Rhythm first. Purpose next. Mission through the team.

The Lab is where the Trauma Transforming Leadership framework starts in practice: stabilising your leadership capacity first, then empowering a team that can carry more of the work with you, in a rhythm that lasts.

Before day 1

Find the leaks

You complete the Leadership Capacity Scorecard and the Rapid Stability Audit, a map of your actual week. We review both in your onboarding session, so we start from your real context, not generic advice.

  • Your highest-cost leaks
  • Calendar friction and interruption patterns
  • Your first stabilisation priorities
Days 1–30

Stabilise the leader

Tactical and immediate. The team takes its cues from your rhythm, so we start with yours.

  • A daily on-ramp and off-ramp
  • A weekly reset
  • A pressure-point map
  • A calendar stabilisation and buffer plan
Days 31–60

Reconnect rhythm to purpose

The mission didn't disappear. It got buried under incidents, rosters and compliance. We bring it back into view and make it practical.

  • Clear language for why the work matters
  • What to say yes to, and what to stop carrying
  • A decision filter for time, energy and attention
Days 61–90

Stability becomes shared

We make the rhythm visible to your team, so new boundaries read as structure, not withdrawal.

  • A team rhythm map and team reset
  • Simple mission language for your team
  • A solution-focused escalation rhythm
The shift that returns the most capacity
"Here's the issue.""Here's what I've considered.""Here are the options.""Here's what I recommend.""Here's where I need your input."

What you get

Implementation, not information.

These aren't lectures. They're working sessions where we apply the framework to your actual week, then test, review and refine until the rhythm survives contact with real work.

1:1 onboarding sessionYour role, team, calendar and pressure points, plus your Scorecard and Rapid Stability Audit reviewed together.
10 weekly implementation sessions, 1:1 or in a small groupLive online video sessions you can join from anywhere in Australia, with recordings of group sessions to revisit. Working sessions on your real interrupted weeks, team patterns and decision load. In the group format, you work through the same framework alongside other frontline leaders.
Quick-apply leadership toolsOn-ramp and off-ramp templates, weekly reset planner, calendar audit, pressure-point map, decision filter, buffer conversation script, team rhythm worksheet, escalation and team reset frameworks.
The week-six commitmentIf you're showing up and applying the tools but not seeing meaningful shifts by week six, we work one to one on what needs to change.

Is this for you?

This is for you if

  • You hold people, pressure, risk and relationships
  • You're good at your work, but the pace is starting to cost you
  • Supervision, thinking time and team development keep getting squeezed
  • You're tired of being the emotional shock absorber for the whole system
  • You want practical structure, not vague inspiration
  • You're ready to apply the work between sessions

It's not for you if

  • You want a passive course to watch in the background
  • You want someone to fix your team while you stay the same
  • You're looking for a script that removes all conflict or urgency
  • You're not willing to look honestly at your calendar and habits
  • You want a program that pretends this work can be made simple

Investment

Two ways to do the Lab.

Same framework, same tools, same 90 days. Choose fully tailored one-to-one support, or work through it alongside a small group of other frontline leaders.

1:1 Lab · Most tailored
$2,750AUD · paid as $250 a week over 11 weeks
$2,400AUD · paid upfront
  • 1:1 onboarding, Scorecard and Rapid Stability Audit review
  • 10 weekly 1:1 implementation sessions, online
  • Quick-apply leadership and team tools
  • The week-six implementation commitment
  • Every session built around your context
Apply for a 1:1 place

5 active places at a time, deliberately. Waitlist when full.

Group Lab · Founding cohort
$1,950AUD per leader · no GST
  • Scorecard and Rapid Stability Audit
  • 10 weekly small-group sessions online, up to 20 leaders
  • Access to session recordings
  • The same quick-apply leadership and team tools
  • Learning alongside leaders who get the work
  • A good fit for organisations sponsoring several leaders
Register interest

The founding cohort opens once five leaders have registered, and is capped at 20. Registering doesn't commit you to anything.

What would it be worth to finish more Fridays with a plan instead of a pile-up? To have your team bring you options instead of every problem? To be more present with the people waiting for you at home?

Questions

Can my organisation pay for this?

Yes. The Lab can be self-funded or sponsored by your organisation. Mention it in your application and we'll sort out the paperwork your organisation needs.

What's the difference between 1:1 and group?

Both follow the same 90-day plan and use the same tools. In the 1:1 Lab every session is built around your situation, and places are limited to five at a time. The Group Lab costs less, and you learn alongside up to 20 other frontline leaders facing the same pressures. The founding cohort starts once five leaders have registered.

Are the sessions online?

Yes. All sessions, 1:1 and group, run live by video, so you can take part from anywhere. Group sessions are recorded, so you can revisit a session or catch up if work gets in the way.

How much time does it take each week?

One implementation session a week, plus time to apply the tools in your real week between sessions. The work happens inside your job, not on top of it.

Is this therapy?

No. The Lab is results coaching focused on your leadership rhythm and team. It isn't psychological assessment or treatment.

What if all five places are full?

You can join the waitlist and you'll be offered the next available opening.

I lead an organisation, not a team. Is there an option for us?

Yes. Leadership diagnostics, private cohorts, workshops and implementation consulting are available through Organisational Programs.

How to apply

Apply, or register interest in the group.

The application isn't a test. It helps Barry understand your context, your team, and which format fits the season you're in. Choose the 1:1 or group Lab in the form. If your organisation is sponsoring you, mention it in the last question.

  1. Complete the application
  2. Barry reviews it personally
  3. If it's a fit and a place is free, you're invited to enrol (or join the waitlist)
  4. You complete the Scorecard and Rapid Stability Audit
  5. Onboarding, then 90 days of stabilising your rhythm

Care deeply. Lead clearly. Still have something left for the people at home.

You don't need another reminder to practise self-care, or another framework that collapses when the week gets messy. You need a rhythm strong enough to help you lead inside complexity.
